One of the most hazardous orders in fast food, is about to get a little more civilized. Typically, ordering at McDonald’s requires you to make an order, awkwardly move over to the side and wait among a wild horde of hungry customers for your food that may or may not ever come. But it seems that this is all about to change according to this WSJ article.
Akin to a Starbucks ordering process, it looks like McDonald’s is implementing a “two point system”. The process will start with a customer ordering their food on one end of the counter and then handed a numbered receipt. Once their food is ready, a monitor will display their number and they will then turn in their receipt for their food order. Sounds easy in practice, but we’ll have to see how it works in the real world.
