For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved the idea of a pot pie. Something about the way that it rolls off of your tongue, that just makes me giggle a little inside. The other aspect is the idea of having pie for dinner. While the traditional pot pie doesn’t smack you in the mouth with fruit filling, but rather meat and veggies, the whole idea is still there with the puff pastry encasing. While it’s not a new menu item, KFC is featuring their Chunky Chicken Pot Pie this month at a discounted price of $3.99.

A dollar off of the $5 normal pie price, KFC ad campaign seems to be angled at 70’s retro vibe, calling the Pot Pie a “classic” alongside of old school muscle cars and men with large mustaches. I don’t know if that will sell me on the pot pie, but the KFC chicken, green peas, carrots, bite sizer potatoes, and thick KFC special sauce, contained by a freshly baked, flaky pie crust might do it. We’ll be sure to give this one a review for you guys and report back.
