Dunkin has been in the seasonal offerings game since it began. They brings us two new additions to bolster their fall flair. They have introduced the Hot and Iced Pumpkin Macchiato and also the Pumpkin Cheesecake Square donut. Its pretty amazing to see how absolutely common place a complicated Italian word like Macchiato has become in 2015. Everyone and their grandmother feels comfortable pronouncing that “key” sound instead of a “ch-ee” sound thanks to Starbucks. Starbucks made up what a macchiato can mean, so its fair that Dunkin Donuts has done the same. Now we see things like this:

Pumpkin Cheescake Square Donut – The Verdict
The filling was a bit underwhelming. The cheesecake flavor tasted slightly artificial, like an approximation of cheesecake. It would have made a much better donut if Dunkin had managed to get something closer to actual cheesecake as the filing instead of flavoring the icing to simulate cheesecake.
The donut definitely could use more pumpkin flavor for how much of a fuss Dunkin has made over #DDpumpkin. The existing glazed pumpkin cake donut is a better donut pick to celebrate the season.
Dunkin Donuts also released a new Reese’s Peanut Butter Square Donut, read our review for that here!
