BK’s upscale burger trend is continuing.  Months ago they released, what appears to be a full time menu item in the Chef’s Choice Burger.  Ground chuck beef was used, buns were plentiful, and everyone was seemingly happy.  We actually reviewed it twice after a reader tipped us off that our first experience might have been an anomaly.  It appears as though the Chef’s Choice has reproduced, creating two more gimmicks off the original gimmick, although both seem to be pretty slight modifications.

The Bacon & Bleu variety takes the original’s ground chuck, artisan bun, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and red onion, and then adds a huge dab of mayo, and tops her off with what is described as “crumbly Wisconsin buttermilk bleu cheese”.  Personally I’ve never been a fan of replacing a nice slice of cheese with crumbles, but there are plenty of aficionados out there who thinks this modification is the bee’s knees.

The Bacon Cheddar BBQ differs even less than the original.  This time all of the original contents of the Chef’s Choice were retained except for the grill sauce.  In it’s place is a double whammy of mayonnaise and BBQ sauce.  For most people, this slight modification wouldn’t have even been noticed, but here at Fast Food Geek, every subtle detail matters.

Anyone try these new puppies out? Let us know in the comments.
