black bean burger
With meatless options becoming all the rage in food, Wendy’s is hoping to spike their vegetarian sales with the addition of a new Black Bean Burger.  While veggie burgers have been tried out before in fast food, Burger King’s Morning Star Veggie burger comes to mind, Wendy’s new variant actually seems to be intriguing due to some premium like toppings.

Consisting of a blend of black beans, corn, roasted peppers, and spices the burger patty seems to have some actual texture compared to the standard uniform veggie patty consistency.  In addition to the burger we also have pepper jack cheese, ranch, tomato, and spring mix on Wendy’s new grained up bun also featured on the new Grilled Chicken Sandwich.  Despite not having any meat, the nutrition doesn’t seem to be especially diet friendly, packing 560 calories, 24 grams of fat, 12 grams of sugar, and 19 grams of protein.
