With seemingly ever fast food eatery beginning a healthy line of food, Taco Bell has decided to beef up it’s options for balance, according to this AP article.  While Taco Bell already has a Fresco line of tacos, that eliminates the cheese and sour cream on the tacos in favor pico de gallo, it is said to currently only account for 2% of their sales.

CEO, Greg Creed, said that Taco Bell won’t lose their identity, but feels the restaurant has a sense of responsibility for providing more balanced options.  They currently have what is described as a “range of products” being tested right now, but there were no details or elaborations on the items. Taco Bell added the Cantina Menu last year in an attempt to compete with the likes of Chipotle in the premium fast casual Mexican realm, and they did quite a solid job, so it should be interesting to see what they can come up with.
