Gluten Free pizza crust is here for all via Papa John’s.  After being test marketed earlier in 2017, the Gluten Free crust project has officially gotten the green light.  Consisting of ancient grains, including quinoa, teff, amaranth, and sorghum, the crust is created and then shipped to participating Papa John’s locations in a completely gluten free environment.   This is all well and good, but Papa John’s still suggests that those with Celiac Disease not consume this crust, due to the fact that the gluten free crust can come into contact with gluten during the preparation phase of the pizza process.  While Papa John’s touts that the ancient grains gives the crust a more robust texture and taste, the pizza may not actually be gluten free, so what is the point? You can snag a two topping Gluten free crust pizza for $9.99 if you’re still willing to give it a try.
