Now that Shake Shack has dug its heels in and is preparing to go head-to-head with premium casual burger brands like In & Out and Five Guys, it makes sense for Fast Food Geek to begin to report on all the much hyped news from the chain.  In addition to the soon-to-be-full-time-but-currently-limited-to-brooklyn-locations-only new Chicken Shack fried chicken sandwich, Shake Shack has joined McDonald’s in the summer lobster LTO game.

For $1 more than McDonald’s 7.99 Lobster Roll, you can try Shake Shack’s new Surf N’ Shack burger topped with Maine Lobster.  The burger build is their standard Angus beef patty, lettuce, tomato, and lobster salad on a Martin’s potato roll.  The Surf N’ Shack is only available until September 20 and can only be had at the chain’s Boston and Connecticut locations in Westportand New Haven.

I’d certainly give this burger a shot, Shake Shack usually can be trusted to use quality ingredients.  I’d try the McDonald’s lobster roll on a dare.
