Ahh Hardee’s, (and/or Carl’s Jr.), the fast food chain I wish I could frequent more often, but am happy I can’t. Getting to stop at a Hardee’s is such a rarity in the Northeast. Hardee’s has a plethora of wild and crazy options for breakfast and luckily there was something recently released that would make Bill Brasky blush. I located one on my Labor Day Weekend travels thru Harrisburg, PA, and felt compelled to write a poem about my experience.
Ingredients

- Sausage Patty

- Folded Egg
- Maple Syrup Glaze
First Impressions (Poem Form):
With a sighting so rare, My wheels hit the street.
I set out before golf, in search of this savory treat.
Strolled through the door, BOGO coupon in hand.
“2 Sausage Cinnamon Swirl French Toast Breakfast Sandwiches”, I said to the man.
Sausage doused in maple.
So salty, so sweet.
Cinna-swirl bread! and eggs! Oh neat!
I traveled to Harrisburg, to accomplish this feat.

Hardee’s Cinnamon Swirl French Toast Breakfast Sandwich – The Verdict:
The Cinnamon Swirl French Toast breakfast sandwich is a creation that focuses on the savory/sweet craze. People want their whole array of breakfast options together now in a single bite. Taco Bell tried this out with their Waffle Taco that has since sog dog’d its way off of the menu. The main reason the Waffle Taco flopped so hard, was the fact that the waffle itself was flavorless and corrugated. This aspect is where the Hardee’s Cinnamon Swirl flourishes. The French Toast was sweet and thick enough to not let the madness in the middle seep through like a soupy sponge. This was the McDonald’s McGriddle amplified to a new level. While most eaters would potentially be intimidated by the heavy load of ingredients and past failings from other establishments, this one is worth the limited time taste.
