Taco Bell Chicken Shell Taco

According to readers from our friends over at Food Beast, Taco Bell is testing out a new taco called the Naked Crispy Chicken Taco.  Going along the same logic as KFC’s famed Double Down, Taco Bell is substituting the carb portion of an entree with fried chicken.  This is the classic blogger bait… and we can’t wait to bite.

Yet another case where we find ourselves asking “what took them so long for a Taco Bell Chicken Shell Taco to be a real thing.”  The concept is so simple, yet so intriguing at the same time.  Consisting of the crispy chicken shell–thats right, a SHELL made of CHICKEN–filled with the classic taco ingredients:  lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese, and avocado ranch sauce.  It seems somewhat peculiar to me that there isn’t another meat component, even if it’s bacon.

The newest Taco Bell creation is currently being tested in select restaurants in California and is selling for $2.49 a pop.

They’re calling this monstrosity a “Naked Crispy Chicken Taco” which makes one wonder… will there be a Naked Grilled Chicken Taco?  And how slippery would it be?

Let us know if you see one in real life, or better yet, if you get a chance to taste one.
