The Surge comeback is once again, gaining steam. Coke’s answer to Mountain Dew had a huge cult following in the 90’s, enough so to bring it back to online only sales last year on Amazon.com’s Pantry service. With 16 oz pounders costing $14 for 12 pack, you’d think there would be an ABV % involved, yet these suckers flew off the shelves like evaporated milk during a zombie apocalypse.
Starting yesterday, Surge’s comeback continues with a store rollout. While currently only consisting of select grocers and independent soda shops, it’s a small step, but important in what many hope will be a nationwide comeback. You can head to surge.com to check out an interactive map with specific stores carrying the soda. A 16 oz can of Surge has 230 calories, 56 grams of sugar, and 69 mg of caffeine.
